Seven Tips To Avoid Bursting Pipes

Here are seven tips to avoid bursting pipes both inside and outside the house.  Let us start with the outdoor area:

Number one: Wrap outside faucets. 

Number two: Caulk around the pipe where they enter the house.

Number three: Disconnect garden hoses.

Number four: Drain in-ground sprinkler systems.

Now, moving onto the indoor areas for more tips on where you can avoid your pipes from bursting:

Number five: Let a stream of water run, if the temperature dips below freezing.

Number six: Open cupboard doors in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Number seven: Shut off and drain your water system if you are leaving home for several days.
